Tonight's close
EXTENDED BIDDING LIVE
One catalog, one close. A bid on any lot extends the whole auction: 2 minutes before 9:30 PM ET, then 1 minute, 30 seconds, and 15 seconds as the night runs on.
WHY A CLOSE BOARD
Bid velocity concentrates into one evening. Surfacing every closing lot with its Alt Value context turns Thursday night from a scavenger hunt into the room where the auction happens. Pays in bid depth per lot and search-to-bid at the moment it counts.
WHY ALT VALUE SITS NEXT TO THE BID
A bidder deciding between lots needs one thing: is the current bid cheap or rich against the model? Showing it beside the clock is bid confidence at the decision moment, with real increments from the live bidding ladder.
Unofficial concept prototype by Jeff Newman. Countdown times are simulated relative to page load; bid amounts derive from seed data and the published increment ladder. Not affiliated with Alt.
